You will never be able to train your animal and truly work together if you or your animal is not listening. If an animals mind is too busy, it will not matter what type of training you are doing. It will not work. It will just feel like you are taking two steps forward and one and three quarters back! When you come back a day later, they will not remember the lesson from the day before and it feels like you are starting all over again.
This goes the same the other way around if the human is not listening and repeating communication models that the animal does not understand, then the animal can not progress.
Animals cannot hear when they are either too excited or too afraid
If an animals mind is too busy, then its attention is going to be else where. Just like us when we are thinking of something different we can not hear the person who is talking to us. It is far to easy at this point for the human to become frustrated and this in turn produces a dominant atmosphere. This does get the animals attention but through fear and not co-operation.
